Design A Theme Park // Days 2, 3, & 4

day2_01

Hah! I bet you all thought I was slacking off! NOPE, I’ve actually been drawing these on time! (Bear with me, sometimes you have to celebrate the little victories because life is hard XD) This is more of a layout plan than a map of the park. I still don’t quite have a grasp on what the park looks like, so I just marked where things should go.

Part of the reason I stuck with giraffes for my theme park is because it would be easy to design the rollercoaster XD

day4_01

This one was fun to design! I can’t draw anything in perspective though XD

Am I supposed to be naming these rides?

On a technical note, I switched to a different pen to draw; I like the ink flow of the one I used for Day 1, but I was in constant fear that I am going to smudge everything (I’m a lefty). So from now on I’m using a more standard ballpoint pen 😀

JaNanamation Sketchbook Challenge 01

Introducing JaNanamation’s first Sketchbook Challenge!

jananachallenge01

In an attempt to fill up the blank pages of our many, many sketchbooks, Jan and I have come up with a long list of drawing prompts and ideas! We’ve decided to work on them a little bit at a time, so we’ve arranged them in thematic groups and plan to complete them over short periods of time (so it’s not too overwhelming). We invite you to draw with us!

Guidelines

  • These challenges are meant to be sketchbook fillers, so don’t feel pressured to create polished drawings for each prompt! Concept art, idea scribbles, and messy redraws are encouraged!
  • Prompts don’t have to be completed over consecutive days. While you are certainly welcome to challenge yourself by completing a drawing every day, we realize that other obligations may prevent us from drawing when we want to. Take a rest day if you need to or an extra day or two to brainstorm if a particular prompt has you stumped!
  • You can spend more than one day on a prompt. Sometimes a prompt will inspire you so much that you want to spend more time on it; if so, great! Keep on drawing and move on to the next one when you’re ready! Or maybe a prompt requires more time than you’re able to give that day; go ahead and keep working on it until you’re done!
  • Use at least one whole page (one side) for each prompt. The idea is to fill up our empty sketchbooks (so we can justify buying new ones lol). If you choose to work digitally, do your best to fill the entire canvas!
  • We’d LOVE to see your drawings, so please post your drawings online if you’re comfortable with that! Use the tag #JaNanamation so we can find it!

Jan and I will be starting this theme set on September 1, but feel free to start whenever! The next set of prompts will be posted sometime in the future 😉
